- Why SunnyGlass? SunnyGlass eliminates the curtain and blind as the barriers which block the natural daylight and outdoor view. Therefore, people are connected with nature all the time which is healthy and well-being to the people. Research studies show that the productivity of occupant is increased when connected with nature daylight and outdoor view. The value earned from increase in productivity of occupant is 100 times more than those earning from energy saving in buildings from any technology.
- Is SunnyGlass & Suntuitive the same? SunnyGlass (SNG) is the registered trade name for market in Hong Kong and Macau, in which the Suntuitive interlayer is laminated in the glass.
- How does SunnyGlass work? When the heat of sun hits on the glass surface, heat transfers to the thermochromic interlayer - Suntuitive which starts to be tinted (changing to dark) continuously to the darkest. When it cools down, say during evening, the interlayer resumes back to clear.
- How long for tinting ? About minutes depending on the dimension of the glass panel.
- How is the SunnyGlass made? It is laminated by 2 glass panels with the Suntuitive interlayer in between. It is a multi-layer of thermochromic material and PVB (polyvinyl butyral) as the adhesive layer in the lamination which is common in the glass industry. Then the IGU (insulated glazing unit) process is followed to integrate air/gas gap and low-E coated glass panel.
- What is the thickness of SunnyGlass? The thickness depends on the strength requirement and dimension of the glass. For example, a 13mm thick laminate of SNG means 2 pieces of 6mm thick glass panels and an interlayer about 1.22mm thick. Then it is further integrated with spacer and low-E glass to IGU (insulated glazing unit).
- How long is the life of SunnyGlass? According to ageing test, it can be operated over 20 years.
- What is the applications of SunnyGlass? It can be used as facades, vertical windows, skylights, roofs, canopies, inclined planes, and etc.
- Any maintenance of the SunnyGlass? The cleaning is same as regular glass, by normal detergent for glass.
- How do I specify the SunnyGlass? We have a specification data sheet and a full architectural specification. Please contact us if needed.
- Is SunnyGlass expensive? It depends on the dimension, quantity, specification of SunnyGlass. It is not necessary expensive when comparing with total shading solution. For example, the total cost of traditional IGU for skylight plus the automatic blind is likely higher than the simple SunnyGlass only. Please contact us for solution and quotation.
